This video is the first video in a series of videos that deal with installing and configuring a snort intrusion detection and prevention system on your network.

Snorby will act as the Web-based frontend for viewing and managing the alerts that we receive from snort.

To follow along with the video, I recommend that you download and install Slackware 14.1 64-bit edition. Then do a full install of Slackware so you can follow along with the video in your own test lab without having to worry about extra dependencies not covered in the video. You can visit http://www.slackware.com in order to find a mirror to download Slackware.
