In this video we highlight the top 12 contenders and the final two winners in the 2020 America’s Transportation Awards Competition. Washington State Department of Transportation’s State Route 99 Tunnel Project, has received the Grand Prize and the Georgia Department of Transportation’s Columbus Riverwalk project, earned the People’s Choice award. Sponsored by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials, AAA, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the 13th annual competition evaluated projects in three categories: Quality of Life/Community Development; Best Use of Technology & Innovation; and Operations Excellence. Presented at the AASHTO 2020 Virtual Annual Meeting, Monday, Nov. 9, the Grand Prize and the People’s Choice awards came with $10,000 cash prizes to be used to support a charity or transportation-related scholarship program of the winning state DOTs choosing.
