This color educational film is about the new Westinghouse Electric Ovens and Ranges versus the "old" gas kitchen appliances. This was made by Roland Reed productions circa 1946 and directed by Frank Strayer, a Hollywood veteran who produced many films from the 1920s into the 1950s.

Opening: A Roland Reed Production, other credits cut off (:07-:14). A woman, Mrs. B. talks with no one visible at her table. She's called on it by the narrator. The woman chats with the narrator. She then goes into the kitchen, she presents the food she'll be serving. She holds a porterhouse steak. Broccoli, carrots, potatoes, rolls. She has everything ready to go. The doorbell rings, she isn't ready to serve food yet. Mrs. B opens the door for Uncle Eflow, a rich uncle, and his nurse. The uncle almost topples over. He sits. Henry comes downstairs and shakes his uncle's hand, he then introduces Gracie, his niece. They move to the living room. The uncle lays down. He is allergic to flowers and asks that they be removed. He then points at a painting of flowers which is turned around. They all chat (:15-5:52). Mrs. B returns to the kitchen. She breaks her gas powered oven's door due to the backfire from Gracie's boyfriend's loud hotrod. Now the oven is broken. Mrs. B. is going to go to the boyfriend's house to use his mother's, Mrs. Smith's oven. The uncle must be fed on time at 6pm or he'll be angry and probable won't give money to Gracie to go to college (5:53-7:50). Mrs. B is at Mrs. Smith's house (along with Gracie and her boyfriend). They eat donuts first. Pie that was made in the new oven is shown to Mrs. B. The oven is opened and shown. The features for the oven are shown (7:51-9:54). Mrs. Smith and Mrs. B. start to put food into the oven. Food is inside the oven and the seal to the oven is shown. The features for the oven are explained. A broiling pan is taken out and the steak will be placed on it. The steak is placed on the oven's top rack. The timer is set. A warming compartment drawer. The two women chat in the kitchen. Mrs. B hands rolls to Mrs. Smith and she puts them in the oven. Meat is put into a frying pan on top of the stove (9:55-14:29). A different color for each heat on the stove top is shown and explained. The uncle is laying on the couch as Gracie and the others chat. Mrs. B. and Mrs. Smith open the storage drawer and remove some pots and pans. Broccoli is placed into pots. Controls are turned onto high (14:30-17:47). The Uncle sits with the nurse and Henry. Henry blocks the nurse from going in the kitchen. The timer goes off and Mrs. Smith opens the oven, they check the steak. They put it back in and restart the timer. The chicken is checked in the pot as it fries. Uncle drinks water as the others watch. Mrs. Smith and Mrs. B get foil ready. Gracie and her boyfriend return and the food is taken out of the oven. The carrots are shown cooked. The broccoli is shown with steam coming off it. The potatoes and rolls are presented (17:48-22:37). Mrs. B exits her kitchen and says dinner is ready. The family sits at the table, having eaten. They all talk. Mrs. B talks with the narrator (22:38-24:10). Mrs. Smith prepares the chocolate topping while Mrs. B bursts into her kitchen again. What can be cooked is explained to Mrs. B. Mrs. Smith hands cupcakes over to Mrs. B. who rushes over to her house and serves cupcakes. The uncle eats a hot cupcake with chocolate topping. He smiles and the family is happy. Mrs. B. cries as the uncle compliments her (24:11-26:42). Henry fixes the old oven door for Mrs. B. who wants a new range. Henry and Mrs. B discuss (26:43-27:59). End credits followed by Mrs. B showing different oven ranges (28:00-29:01).
