Описание к видео Knoxville Horror Film Fest 2017 Trailer

The Knoxville Horror Film Fest (KHFF) will return for its ninth annual celebration of sinister cinema on October 20 - 22, 2017 at Regal Cinemas Downtown West 8. Dedicated to bringing the genre film festival experience to East Tennessee, KHFF 2017 will once again pack the weekend with independent, classic and short-form horror films.

This year’s lineup is headlined by nine feature films, each preceded by a selection of shorts:

SUSPIRIA (dir. Dario Argento) – The bold, bewitching masterpiece of Italian horror celebrates its fortieth anniversary with an eye-popping, blood-splattering 4K restoration.

BLADE OF THE IMMORTAL (dir. Takashi Miike) – The prolific, genre-hopping Japanese master celebrates his 100th feature film with an epic and bloody adaptation of the popular manga.

THE ENDLESS (dir. Justin Benson & Aaron Scott Moorhead) – The directors of Spring and Resolution bring their unique slow burn to the story two men seeking out a mysterious cult.

KUSO (dir. Steven Ellison) – The brain-twisting gross-out debut from iconoclastic music producer Flying Lotus features Tim Heidecker, Hannibal Buress and George Clinton.

HAUSU (dir. Nobuhiko Obayashi) – A group of schoolgirls faces off against an evil spirit in this crowd-pleasing Japanese haunted house tale, an all-time KHFF favorite also turning 40 this year.

BETTER WATCH OUT (dir. Chris Peckover) – A holiday babysitting gig goes horrifically wrong in this twisty, crowd-pleasing thriller.

GAME OF DEATH (dir. Sebastien Landry & Laurence Morais-Lagace) – The gruesome web series hits the big screen as a board game teaches a houseful of millenials to kill or be killed.

SPOOKERS (dir. Florian Habicht) – A delightfully disturbing documentary look at a family of New Zealanders operating a popular haunted house attraction.

SEQUENCE BREAK (dir. Graham Skipper) – A video arcade technician’s life is changed when a mysterious machine shows up in his shop in this surreal and oddly romantic body horror film.

Other events include Saturday night’s premiere of the 2017 Grindhouse Grind-out Filmmaking Contest (KHFF’s unique film event challenging locals to create wild, grindhouse-style fake movie trailers) and Sunday evening’s Awards Ceremony (at Market Square’s Scruffy City Hall) recognizing the festival’s best films.

For the first time since teaming up with Downtown West in 2012, this year’s KHFF film screenings will be presented exclusively at the theater, spanning from Friday evening through Sunday afternoon. Further details will be announced through September, with the full festival schedule and full slate of short films to follow in October.

Discounted weekend pre-sale passes will be available September 1. Daily passes will go on sale October 1, while admission to individual screenings will be made available the weekend of the festival.

KHFF will also host a Festival Preview Event on Friday, October 13 at Ijams Nature Center, featuring trailers & shorts teasing this year’s festival plus a screening of Jennifer Kent’s insta-classic THE BABADOOK courtesy of our friends at IFC; this event will double as a benefit for Central Cinema, a single-screen theater concept being developed by the KHFF team and scheduled to open in Knoxville’s Happy Holler neighborhood in early 2018. Submissions for this year’s Knoxville Horror Film Fest remain open through September 11, with special discounts for films produced in Tennessee. Knoxville-area filmmakers are also invited to compete in the Grindhouse Grind-out contest (kicking off October 5) which gives teams six days to produce their own horror themed short film or trailer for competition during KHFF’s main event on Saturday night.
