This week's free guitar backing track is a shred fusion rock track in the key of D Major. Use D Major and its associated modes for jamming along with this track. It's important to modulate to D Minor during the last two chords of the chorus in order to keep your tonality correct!

Chromatic notes and style and sophistication to almost any jam, so experiment and see what you can come up with. This is an excellent track to work on more complex techniques, including alternate picking, sweep picking, and two-hand finger tapping. All the same, be sure to always focus on the melodic content of your playing -- guitarists may love to hear shredding, but the average listener always craves catchy melody!
