I've been making wine at home for a few years now. And the worst part has been removing the grapes from the stems. It's a pain and takes hours.
I've seen machines you can buy which will remove the stems, so i decided to try and make one. It took a few hours to build, but i'm very happy with how it turned out and how well it works.
The case is a large PVC pipe, with a spinning rod in the middle that rotates the grapes and stems. The grapes fall out the holes and the stems fall out the end.
It's not perfect and it's not done. I still need to make an outer casing and trough for the grapes to fall into. I'll probably do that, the last minute before harvesting this year.
