Society Finches

This is my 10'L x 3'H x 18"W Society flight cage stress reliever. My canaries abandoned their chicks so I ran out and purchased two male societies in hopes of getting them to foster the chicks. The all white and boisterous fawn mottled one raised the chicks. They did such a good job I decided to get more and now have a flock of 8. They really are a far cry from watching just one bird per cage... like I house my canaries.

If you are looking for birds with a calm demeanor, you need look no further than these little guys. They are not at all loud. They have delightful little chirps and the males have a rather melodious little song with a miniature trumpet like horn sound that they throw in at the end. I was playing a clip off you tube for this video to get them going. They are not always this vocal.

Their true nature really came out when I added the 6th bird and 8 is the perfect number for this size cage. I believe you should not house them in odd numbers. 3, 5, 7, always even numbers. This way one will never feel left out.
