The Battle of Britain was a story of bravery in summer skies. Of RAF airmen who took on the might of the Luftwaffe to defend these shores and prevent Hitler’s planned invasion.

Battle of Britain: The People’s Project aims to uncover more of the untold stories, not just about Kenley and the men who flew from this airfield but about the whole of the Battle of Britain.

It is Dilip’s mission to track down and tell those stories as part of a comprehensive, seven-volume history of arguably the most important battle fought by this country in the whole of the 20th century. He is looking for anecdotes and family stories that highlight the bravery, the sacrifice and the determination shown by those who may not have flown a Spitfire or Hurricane but were an integral part of the Battle of Britain.
