Here is an Oldstock Swedish Wool Blanket.

I have no idea when this was made. but my guess is that it is from the 60's-70's.

Obviously, a wool blanket will weigh more than a polyester woobie. I usually use the wool blanket at home and car camping, but for shorter excursions, can still be packed in.

For me, the wool breathes better and I overheat rarely sleeping with it when the furnace starts up on the mornings.

I like the toughness of the woobies as far as washing them.

The Swedish Forces, I believe, use a poncho liner these days. I have seen, online, one from 2014 which looks amazing, but I can't find it. It has water resistance or waterproofing, yet breathes and can be worn while standing and moving.
