Train journey with breath-taking views of Pir Panjal: Katra-Reasi rail link gets ready in J&K

In a significant breakthrough for the Udhampur-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project, Indian Railways conducted trail runs at the Katra-Reasi section of the highly-anticipated project.
The Katra-Reasi stretch, covering a challenging 111 kilometres, faced multiple interruptions during construction, necessitating the involvement of global experts.

The Jammu–Baramulla railway line is a groundbreaking infrastructure project aimed at linking the Kashmir Valley in Jammu and Kashmir with the rest of India. Covering a distance of 338 kilometers, the railway line starts at Jammu and ends at Baramulla, passing through a range of difficult and varied landscapes. A key component of this initiative is the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL), which spans 272 kilometers, connecting Udhampur to Baramulla. This ambitious project is poised to revolutionize transportation in the region and enhance connectivity.
