A sneak peek at the newest historical character to join the American Girl family, Caroline Abbott. The doll & 6 book series will be available on September 4, 2012 at American Girl Retailer's Nationwide and online at americangirl.com.

The doll is simply stunning and arrives with the first book in her series "Meet Caroline" in a linen look dress with flower embroidery around the waistline of the dress, pink ruffles around the cuffs of the sleeves and neckline, white knee socks, and pink flats.

While Caroline's eyes looked blue in many of the photo's that we've seen, they are actually gorgeous light green in color and are simply stunning when the light hits the green flecks in her eyes! Carolines hair has a definite partial part in the middle of her hairline and beautiful blond barrel curls that fall mid-waist when unwrapped. The doll comes with her hair wrapped in a net (as with most American Girl Dolls) so that it maintains its style while in transport.

The storyline for Caroline will follow her during the time period of the War of 1812 where she is residing with her family in Sacketts Harbor, New York. Her father owns Abbott Shipyards, and is a ship builder as well as a ship captain. Caroline has aspirations of captaining a ship one day herself (a pretty fierce and uncommon sight during this time period - LOVE that this character is so independent and has such a strong will!).

Caroline will face struggles in her storyline when her father and cousin are captured by British sailors, and has to find her inner strength to push through the difficulties and realize her dreams.
