Impressive 2003 Jaguar S-Type 4.2L V8 R Supercharged

Billed as the most powerful Jaguar sedan ever created, making about 400 horsepower and moving from rest to 60 mph in 5.3 seconds. A new ZF six-speed automatic transmission puts V8 power to the rear wheels. Keeping the R models' prodigious power in check are large four-piston calipers, courtesy of racing-brake supplier Brembo. The sport buckets in the R provide ample support, and the rear seat is comfortably recontoured. Dynamically, the new Jaguar doesn't have quite the edge of a BMW M5 , but the performance advantages of the BMW are mainly evident when using stopwatches at a racing circuit. What's easier to measure is the price differential, and here the Jaguar shines.
