A calm morning on Maryport Beach turns into absolute chaos the moment the rods hit the sand.
Taps, rattles, slack lines, mystery weight in the surf — and one moment that had me shouting loud enough for half of Cumbria to hear.

I came back to the West Coast hoping for something… but whatever kept hitting the baits today was NOT what I expected.
Some bites were tiny. Some were heavy. Some came out of nowhere. And one had me sprinting down the beach like a man possessed.

What was flapping on the surface?
What nearly ripped the rod out the stand?
And what made me yell “YES!” loud enough to scare the seagulls?
