Is the Light Tour R5.8 Mattress A Thermarest XTherm KIller?

Описание к видео Is the Light Tour R5.8 Mattress A Thermarest XTherm KIller?

Is the Naturehike / Windhike / Flame's Creed Light Tour R5.8 Mattress a Thermarest XTherm Killer for half to a third of the price? Will I join the Stepford Hiking Wives in loving Big Osprey and join the Borg or Go My Own way?

A test hike in Richmond Park featuring some frisky deer, a first look at the Osprey Rook 65L budget backpack (or rooksack, rucksack - geddit?). And an unboxing and inflation test of the R 5.8 inflatable mattress.

My first impressions of the Opsrey were not totally good; it doesn't take weight as comfortably as my Kelty Coyote 80 which surprised me - it's a bit of a diva in that regard - better with lighter loads, which is fine given I am getitng it as a 2-3 day pack that can do winter, and the lighter gear I'm getting I am slowly downsizing my rucksacks as I can afford to.

Only reason I got the Osprey was that there was a Black Friday sale reduced to £99 at Blacks/Go Outdoors etc - now sadly back up to over £150, but Osprey are selling it at £119. But maybe it will get reduced again.

Apparently the Light Tour is independently certified 5.8 R-Value via ASTM so it's a 4 Season mattress - but did they send me the right version? As a longshanks, I had to get the extended long version, which was the version that was 'out of stock' ahem

I had a month of faff getting it since the original seller - Outdoor Sports Global Store Store - avoid them - lied to me repeatedly and delayed me, even though it was a great 11.11 price, I had to cancel and buy it for more at from our old friends at JY Outdoor Equipment Store who I bought my original Lanshan from. It arrived quicker than estimated.

It was going dark, so sorry for some of the shaky cam, I learned from the last wild camping video that until I can afford a better phone or camera, I need to stay still (and shoot in better light - hard to do that in dark winter months!)

Gear featured - again, my reviews are currently 100% independent, bought with my own money, no freebies, so no agenda or bias. I will state in the video if that ever changes, but for now I get nothing for these links - so if you find it useful and save money, maybe send me some of the difference to https://ko-fi.com/tjbarts and support the channel!

More money means more gear which means more reviews or trips, atm I am very limited by being unwaged.

Osprey Rook 65: - sadly that £99 sale has gone, but if you buy from Osprey direct https://www.osprey.com/gb/rook-65-201... then do use their newletter signup to get 10% off your first sale code, you should get it cllose to that. Sadly not in the black, but they have green and blie.

Last video of 2023 I think - Have A Good Xmas all of you, and see you in the New Year!

P.S. SPOOK ROOK! I see ‪@DaleyOutdoors‬ has just reviewed the Osprey Rook 50    • Osprey Rook 50 First Look!  , so going live with this one early to jump on The Cool Kids Osprey bandwagon! I wasn't copying him, honest (this one has been in the can since early December when I got the pack...)
