Dr. Chiang is a triple board-certified (gastroenterology, internal medicine, obesity medicine), got his BS from Duke, MPH from Harvard, and MD from Columbia. IM trained from NY Presbyterian Hospital, GI from Harvard at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and Bariatric endoscopy fellowship from there as well, with a final advanced endoscopy fellowship here from Jefferson. He is currently the Chief Medical Officer of the gastrointestinal business for Medtronic. He is also an assistant professor of Medicine at TJUH and chief Social Media Officer for the health system. He is also the director of the endoscopic bariatric program here at Thomas Jefferson. He has been named Helios 2018 Gastroenterology innovator of the year and been featured on the NYT, CNBC, BBC News, Men’s Health, and more. Finally, he sits on the inaugural YouTube Health Advisory Board and joined the White House healthcare leaders in social media roundtable in 2022.
