Arab New Wave : The Actors ǀ Presented by Arab Cinema Center ⁠

A new Golden Age of Arab filmmaking has emerged over the last decade, powered by a combination of international festival award-winners and bona fide commercial blockbusters that have taken the region’s cinemas by storm. And yet for all this creative outpouring, Arab acting talent still don’t enjoy quite the same level of global recognition that so many of their peers do. This panel will feature some of Arab cinema’s current superstars in a joint discussion about the opportunities and challenges they face in claiming the international marketplace.

With Raya Abirached (TV Personality), Yagoub Alfarhan (Actor), Ahmed Malek (Actor), Youssra (Actress), Cassandra Han (Casting Director, Cassandra Han Casting), Zeinab Abu Alsamh (General Manager, MBC Studios and MBC Academy), and Alaa Karkouti (Co-Founder and CEO at MAD Solutions and Arab Cinema Center).

A panel discussion led by Melanie Goodfellow, a Senior International Film Correspondent at Deadline.
