This webinar coincided with International Women’s Day, and was held to launch several new resources developed by the Gender and Disability team on the prevention of violence against women with disabilities. The event modelled best practice in accessibility in the online space.

WDV CEO Leah Van Poppel opened the event with a powerful speech about why it is so vitally important that we act now to prevent violence against women with disabilities. This was followed by a short presentation from Our Watch on an upcoming framework for the prevention of violence against women with disabilities to sit alongside the Change the Story and Change the Picture frameworks for violence prevention.

The remainder of the event presented each of the new resources in turn, giving examples of each of the drivers and actions and demonstrating how these resources might be used in a training space. This segment also highlighted a number of other amazing members of the Workforce Development team who shared their lived experience perspectives and anecdotes on some of the drivers and actions.

The event had around 150 attendees over the hour and a half and received excellent feedback in both the chat and the feedback form
