In this video:
We show you how to adjust the spring pre-load or tension on the newer KTM systems that use a Belleville washer instead of traditional clutch springs to provide pressure on the clutch plate stack.

There are three levels of pre-load available on the stock OEM adjustment ring and choosing the right setting for your application is important. For this bike, we have the Rekluse Core Manual clutch stack installed, but this technique works for any similar clutch plates you may use including OEM disks.

Pre-load controls how much initial pressure is on the stack, and because there is very little actual range of motion to this system, it's critical that you set it right for your clutch stack height (and adjust it as your clutch plates wear in).

Incorrect pre-load can lead to clutch slippage and premature clutch disk failure so if you have any problem with clutch slippage, don't wait, learn how to adjust it and get yours fixed. It's super simple and only takes about 15 minutes to do this job.
