Was Gardevoir EVER Good Competitively?

Competitive Pokemon Singles is not a world where Gardevoir has necessarily thrived.

In it's debut game of Gen 3, it is a niche choice in competitive, occasionally used for its unique tools like Memento and the ability Trace.

Overall Gardevoir struggled to set itself apart very much from existing Psychic types who do similar things better.

Gardevoir did receive a significant buff in Gen 6 though where it became a Psychic/Fairy type, and it also has one of the best Mega Evolutions of Gen 6 OU to it's name.

Some will never figure out how to get Gardevoir in Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet. But famous player Jim Cool is well aware of the Best Gardevoir Moveset in Competitive, and even how to Gardevoir Shiny Farm. Many aren't and never will be. That's just the unfortunate reality of the world.
