"Mirage" - McCallum High School Marching Band 2021 UIL State Finals

The McCallum High School Marching Band performed their 2021 UIL contest show at the UIL State Marching Championship Finals at the Alamodome in San Antonio, TX on November 2, 2021.

The Mac Band placed 6th out of 33 bands in the preliminary round and 6th out of 12 bands in the finals round of the competition.

**Special thanks to the amazing directors of the Austin High School Band for loaning us their prop truck at the VERY last minute when our prop truck broke down en route to San Antonio - we literally could not have competed without their assistance! ❤️

The Mac Band's contest performance, entitled "Mirage", is in four movements and includes original selections from composers Ian Grom and John Mapes.

The Mac Band is led on the field by Drum Majors Scarlet Frese, Stephanie Gallegos and John Hamlet. Flute soloists are Madelynn Niles, Royce Blech and Julia Schaubert, mellophone soloist is Tyler Mankinen and saxophone soloist is Will Sharp. Cologuard soloists are Ximena De La Garza, Ella Jones and Natalie Nagy.

Directors for the Mac Band are Carol Nelson, Zack Travis, Jeff Rudy and Scott Lowe. Colorguard director is Kirstie Geren.
