कर्ण को परशुराम ने श्राप क्यों दिया इसका उत्तर महाभारत की हीं एक कथा में मिलता है |कर्ण जब धनुर्विद्या सीखने के लिए गुरु द्रोणाचार्य के पास पहुंचे ,तो उन्होंने कर्ण के शूद्र पुत्र होने कि वजह से उन्हें शिक्षा देने से माना कर दिया |कर्ण इससे निराश होकर भगवान परशुराम के पास पहुंचे |परशुराम जी ने कर्ण की प्रतिभा को देखकर कर्ण को अपना शिष्य बना लिए | महाभारत की रण भूमि में जब कर्ण अपने आखिरी समय में थे |तब भगवान परशुराम उनके पास आए और कहने लगे, कि इसी दिन के लिए तो मैंने कर्ण तुम्हें श्राप दिया था |हे! पुत्र इस युद्ध में विजय होने से तुम्हें कुछ नहीं मिलेगा |यदि वासुदेव कृष्ण के होते हुवे तुम विजयी हो भी गए |तब भी कंगाल हो जाओगे |इसीलिए हे!दानवीर कर्ण,,,,,
