In this session, we’re back with Slider, the horse, for what might be session number seven (or thereabouts). Our goal? To prepare him, get him ready to ride, and transform him into a functional member of society. Today’s focus: installing the buttons.

What are these mysterious buttons? Well, they’re not physical buttons, but rather cues we’ll use to move different parts of Slider’s body. Let’s break it down:

Hip Button (Button #1): Located near the belly cinch, this button helps us move Slider’s hips. Perfect for side passes and encouraging that rib cage to shift.
Rib Button (Button #2): Right between the two cinches, this button controls the ribs. Think of it as Slider’s side-to-side movement control.
Shoulder Button (Button #3): Up by the front cinch, this button nudges Slider’s shoulders. Essential for precise maneuvers.
Now, here’s the twist: Slider is a nervous, almost anxious horse. His past surgery has left him wary of humans. But we’re patient, reminding him that he’s safe.
