Atomos Academy tutorial: Shoot ProRes RAW with the Sony PXW-FX9 and SHOGUN 7 with Alister Chapman

Описание к видео Atomos Academy tutorial: Shoot ProRes RAW with the Sony PXW-FX9 and SHOGUN 7 with Alister Chapman

Join Sony Independent Certified Expert Alister Chapman to learn all about the upcoming Apple ProRes RAW recording solution for the Sony PXW-FX9 camcorder using the Atomos SHOGUN 7 monitor-recorder. The PXW-FX9 will require the Sony XDCA-FX9 Extention Unit to output RAW over SDI and initially the Atomos SHOGUN 7 will record pristine Apple ProRes RAW images at up to DCI 4Kp60, or in 2K up to DCI 2Kp180 continuous. The FX9 camera’s RAW output (via XDCA-FX9) will be enabled via the V2.0 firmware update for the FX9 from Sony planned in October 2020. At the same time there will be a free AtomOS firmware download for the SHOGUN 7 to allow PXW-FX9 RAW recording.

In the video Alister will walk you through the setup for the camera and recorder, as well as showing how to easily get ProRes RAW clips into Final Cut Pro X and edit them.

The SHOGUN 7 offers a true RAW recording system that takes 16-bit linear image data directly from the state-of-the-art full-frame sensor and outputs if for recording in 12-bit ProRes RAW format (log encoded) on the SHOGUN 7. The result is a flexible and efficient RAW file that is visually lossless, easy to edit and much easier to store than traditional uncompressed RAW formats. The resulting images have amazing detail and the maximum latitude for post-production - optimal for HDR finishing or to give greater flexibility in SDR (Rec.709).

Atomos believes ProRes RAW is the new standard for RAW video capture, which is supported by an ever growing number of cameras over SDI or HDMI. The format gives filmmakers enormous latitude when adjusting the look of their images and extending brightness and shadow detail, making it ideal for HDR workflows. Both ProRes RAW, and the higher bandwidth, less compressed ProRes RAW HQ are supported. Manageable file sizes speed up and simplify file transfer, media management, and archiving. ProRes RAW is supported in Final Cut Pro X, Adobe Premiere and Grass Valley Edius, along with a collection of other apps including ASSIMILATE SCRATCH, Colorfront and FilmLight Baselight.
