ReWire: Joost Fluitsma at TEDxWageningen

Описание к видео ReWire: Joost Fluitsma at TEDxWageningen

Joost makes a live demonstration how beautiful art can be crafted out of wire and other objects otherwise seen as waste.

Joost's father is a sculptor and his mother is a speech therapist. He mixes these two professions into his work. He studied Industrial Design Engineering in Delft and Art in Den Haag. From a distance they are almost the same, but he experienced two totally different worlds. An engineer thinks in pressure and tension and thinks about the functionality, whereas an artist is making his or her work from a personal need and later looks back at what the meaning is. In his work for RE*WIRE he experienced a nonconventional way of thinking. It is a lot about doing out of a personal need.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
