In this video, we explore how the 8051 microcontroller handles serial communication using its built-in UART. The Universal Asynchronous Receiver and Transmitter allows data transfer between the microcontroller and external devices like PCs, sensors, or other microcontrollers. The 8051 uses the SBUF register for sending and receiving data, and communication speed is controlled by the baud rate generator (Timer 1). We’ll see how modes of serial communication work, the role of registers like SCON and TMOD, and understand how data is transmitted bit by bit through the TxD and RxD pins. This makes UART one of the most powerful features of the 8051 for real-time data exchange.”
