Thermocouples (TC) – what they do and how they work

Описание к видео Thermocouples (TC) – what they do and how they work

Let’s talk about Thermocouples: How they work and in which industries they are used.
Thermocouples, in contrast to RTDs, are recommended for processes with high temperatures (i.e. above 600°C).
Starting with an experiment (don't try this at home!), to show that the Seebeck effect is transferring heat energy into voltage. This method is a differential temperature measurement not an absolute one.
There are several standardized thermocouple pairs, e.g. Nickel Chrome Nickel. For higher temperature ranges noble thermocouples are used like Platinum.
This and more will be explained by our expert Dietmar in this video!
