This October, Sotheby’s will offer a jewelry collection of legendary provenance – belonging to Dame Shirley Bassey, recently appointed Member of the Order of the Companion of Honor by The King for music services. The Welsh-born British singer, whose immensely successful career has spanned over seven decades, offers favorite pieces from her jewelry and watch collection for the first time at auction.

The legendary vocalist, whose career is unparalleled in longevity, success, and esteem in British music history, has been collecting jewelry throughout her career. Every jewel in the sale represents a particular moment in Dame Shirley Bassey’s life and iconic performances.

The collection up for auction in Paris, as part of the Fine Jewels biannual sale, will comprise over seventy pieces spanning various styles from several prestigious jewelry brands such as Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpels. Most of the jewels offered feature diamonds – the gemstone synonymous with Dame Shirley Bassey since she first sang the famous James Bond song ‘Diamonds Are Forever’ in 1971.

Proceeds from the sale will benefit Dame Shirley Bassey’s chosen charities.
