Dani Rothwell is a 17 year old with an immense passion for bettering the community around her. She acts on this passion in many ways, whether that is through helping the global community or the local one.

The passion she holds for bettering the community, stems from the foundation that Scouts Australia gave her, as a youth member for almost 10 years. Scouting allowed her to be selected as a youth representative from age 13 through to 16 for all of the youth members in Scouting, with a role on the National Youth Council -- the main youth advisory body for Scouts Australia.

From the strong foundation and sense of community Dani has, she has participated in campaigns from The Oaktree Foundation, the Australian Youth Climate Coalition and has actively supported and promoted the Global Poverty Project. She has embarked on the Make Poverty History Roadtrip of 2010, and is planning to do the same in 2013.

Through the Oaktree Foundation's "Live Below the Line" campaign, Dani has spent over 43 days living on 2 dollars a day for food and drink, and has raised over $700 for under-privileged communities in Cambodia and Papua New Guinea.

Dani's involvement in youth organisations has led her to have an interest in policies and therefore government, causing her to accept her school's nomination for a City of Casey Australia Day Study Tour Award. This program allowed her to develop relationships within the local community, the City of Casey and local politicians. Her relationships lead her to help with the Summit on Youth Suicide with Anthony Byrne, be a Casey Youth Ambassador, be a Youth Representative for the City of Casey at a Community Cabinet, and attend many leadership conferences and forums.

Other things Dani has been involved in band promotion, specifically Evermore and The Indigo Children, Community Service Co-Captain at school, Youth Parliament 2011 & 2012, and various leadership camps such UNO-Y through the YMCA.
