Salmon Fishing via Westport; Volume 1 - Livin' Outdoors

Описание к видео Salmon Fishing via Westport; Volume 1 - Livin' Outdoors

My Dad goes out onto the ocean with his old work boss Easy fairly often to go fishing for Salmon, Halibut and Tuna in Washington and Ono, Mahi Mahi, and Marlin off the Big Island of Hawai'i. I have been available to go fishing with them a scant few times, but when I do, we've usually had good luck - although my father usually has great luck. Easy had also very graciously let Sabrina and I stay with him and his wife in Hawai'i for a few days during out honeymoon back in August.

This was my fist time going Salmon fishing with them, and by their reaction it was a pretty good day.We are each allowed 2 fish a day in Washington, up to 1 Chinook - if we catch them - otherwise the limit can be filled with Coho. Well, we each got our Chinook (King Salmon) and they were all better than 15 pounds. We also got our Coho, and they were all better than 5 pounds, which is pretty big for Coho. The Chinooks 'can' get much bigger. But 20ish pounds is pretty good nowadays.

Of course the length of the video means we caught more than 6 fish. We probably brought 15 to the boat. But the rest were let go either because they were too small to be kept to begin with, native fish that had to be released, or they were too small for our liking.

There was some other excitement too. At the beginning of the video you;ll hear is squawk about a whale breaching twice off the camera's right. You may be able to see it on the big screen. I couldn't in the editing software. And at 17min 10sec a big Blue Shark swim up to the back of the boat, trying to get the salmon Dad is reeling in.
