NCC Sets September 14 As The Deadline For NIN-SIM Linkage

The Nigerian Communications Commission has announced 14th of September as the ‘final deadline’ for the linkage of the National Identification Number and the Subscriber Identification Modules.
Spokesman of the Commission, Reuben Muoka, in a statement directed all mobile network operators to complete the verification and linkage of SIMs to NINs by the set date.
Mr Mouka said over 153 million SIMs have been successfully linked to their NINs representing 96 per cent of sim users.
He also mentioned that effective from 15th September the Commission expects that no SIM operating in Nigeria will be without a valid NIN.
