TerraCaching Traditional Cache Challenge

TerraCaching.com is pleased to announce the Winter 2011-2012 Traditional Cache Challenge. This challenge incorporates several key areas of TerraCaching, as detailed below.

Registration Information

Registration will be open for the entire competition, which ends on February 25, 2012. Winners will be announced on February 27, 2012. Please note that the sooner you register, the sooner you can start collecting points.

In order to compete, you must register by posting in this topic that you would like to participate. THIS IS A REQUIREMENT. We will start tracking your progress as soon as you register, so the sooner the better and the higher your chances of winning! You cannot collect any points before your registration post.

Challenge Requirements

In order to compete in this challenge you must do the following:

1. Register by posting that you would like to participate in this topic.
2. Hide at least 1 Traditional Terracache.
3. Find at least 1 Traditional Terracache.

Determination of a Winner

A winner will be determined by the highest combined score of total MCE of hides multiplied by 10 and Total TPS of finds (MCE of hides x 10 + Total TPS of Finds) as of 2/25/12. In the event of a tie, the highest UCR gain during the competition time period will serve as a tie-breaker. Therefore, the more traditional caches you hide or find during this period, the greater your chances of winning one of the awesome prizes outlined below. Please note that ONLY caches found or hidden during the competition time period will count towards your total.

Prizes

First Prize: Garmin Montana 650. This is one of the latest hiking GPS units, and also contains a camera. See more here:

Second Prize: $150 (or equivalent in foreign currency) to cover gas/petrol charges racked up during cache hunting and hiding.

Third Prize: $100 (or equivalent in foreign currency) to cover all the cool TerraCaching swag that was placed in newly hidden caches.
