The Mysore Government Road Transport Department, which is now known as the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (Karnataka SRTC), has expanded over time.
Karnataka SRTC started the operation of its first electric bus “EV Power Plus’’ on GCC (Gross Cost Contract) model with effect from 16th January 2023 on the Bangalore-Mysore route on a trial basis.
It’s the first State Transport Undertaking (STU) in India to have a web-based passenger seat reservation system since April 29, 2006.
Karnataka SRTC is today providing anywhere-to-anywhere booking at all of its counters and franchisee counters situated across Karnataka.
It received the Union Transport Minister’s Trophy for the lowest Accident Record in 1998-2001.
The corporation today has 8400+ vehicles in its fleet. It stands 5th amongst STUs in the nation by size.
It has won PSU National Award 2023 for its recent initiatives related to human resources. The corporation received the award from former Chief Justice of India, Justice Dipak Misra at an event in New Delhi.
