Port Meadow Oxford: A film made by Tim Piers and Michael Borst in 1983, featuring Connie Styles and Sylvia Johnson talking about planes landing on the meadow during the last war and how the meadow has changed over the years. Frank Garside also talks about the re-introduction of the Sheriff's races 100 years after they were abandoned,(after a conversation with Tim King). Tim King (in blue polo neck) is seen briefly throwing skittles in the Aunt Sally at the Sheriff's races, along with Alison, who talks about the ecology of the meadow. Also Ian Davis has a tale about a raid on Wolvercote, by some students from the university and how one of them ended up in the stocks.
Michael Borst died in 1995. His daughter Venca, was seen briefly near the beginning of the film, throwing a branch into the water. Venca died in 2004. RIP Michael and Venca, with much love from your friends and neighbours.
