Tony Osborne Orchestra - No Other Love

Описание к видео Tony Osborne Orchestra - No Other Love

The song "No Other Love" started life as a Richard Rodgers instrumental composition for the NBC TV documentary series "Victory At Sea". Whilst working with Oscar Hammerstein II on a new musical titled "Me and Juliet" Richard Rodgers decided to resurrect the music and with lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein incorporate it into the musical. "Me and Juliet" wasn't a terrific success at the box office, but the song "No Other Love" became a favourite of the fans and Perry Como, Bing Crosby and others recorded it with great success in the States. In the UK Ronnie Hilton had one of his biggest hits with it in April 1956 taking it all the way to the top of the charts.
Here is an excellent arrangement of the tune on this 1970s recording by the maestro Tony Osborne with his piano and orchestra.
