New decisions in the Board of Directors of the Supreme Council of Antiquities to encourage cultural tourism Within the framework of the efforts of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities to stimulate foreign tourists arriving in Egypt, the Board of Directors of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, in its session headed by Dr. Khaled El-Enany, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, adopted several decisions working to promote and support cultural tourism during the upcoming tourist season.

These decisions included extending the period of the "Summer in Upper Egypt" initiative launched by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities from several months to support and encourage cultural tourism programs in Upper Egypt during the summer period as the number of visitors decreased due to the high air temperature, so the board of directors of the Supreme Council of Antiquities took, for the first time then, a decision to reduce the rate of 50% of the full foreign tickets prices in the archaeological areas and museums open to visit in the governorates of Qena, Luxor and Aswan, where all foreign tourists will pay a flat rate, which is the price of foreign students tickets, representing 50% of the price of the full ticket. In continuation of this support, the initiative's activation period was extended, exceptionally, until October 31, 2020.
