The Music of Windham Hill, an hour long television special and the nation’s first digital stereo TV / radio simulcast, aired in early July (1982) on San Francisco’s KQED. Produced by Emmy award winning Charlie Moran, the show featured Windham Hill recording artists George Winston, pianist; Will Ackerman, guitarist; Michael Hedges, guitarist; Darol Anger, violinist; and Barbara Higbie, pianist.

Use of the Sony Digital PCM 10 Transmission Encoder had been donated for the broadcast, and was made available to other stations to air the program at another date.

This next tune is one that i did write in Enid quite sometime ago (1973); and it was the first idea that i had to do a guitar solo. It’s quite raucous. It was kinda like sitting on the porch watching the tornado come our way into town so i call it “Silent Anticipations.”
