東方宝天京 ～ Treasure Castle Labyrinth - Reimu&Tenshi Lunatic 1cc (Rainbow Lantern, 19,469,808,750)

i feel like more people should do score runs of Touhou fan-games, this was kind of fun to do (even if i made a bunch of mistakes)




Treasure Castle Labyrinth is a recently released Touhou fan-game that's been in development for almost four years now, and is technically still in development as some additional content has yet to be implemented (mainly bonus spellcards and extra stages). it's also a playable rendition of a Touhou Album with the same name, so there's that as well.

it's also arguably beginner-friendly, as the red and rainbow lanterns give you extra starting resources, making the game a little more easier to deal with (not to say that it's easy, of course; hell i almost lost my first run to the final boss). the music's pretty damn good too, and the patterns are honestly pretty unique (though some are DEFINITELY not blind-friendly).
something that caught my eye though was the scoring potential for the game, which i first noticed with the inclusion of a blue lantern. i was also watching World Record replays of official Touhou games at this time, so i decided to give a shot at a score run for this game.

given how recently the game released, there isn't exactly any solid evidence for which shottype and lantern combination is most ideal for a score run, though judging by the rather decent score i managed to get, i imagine the rainbow lantern is a recommended pick (at least for beginners; someone apparently got 31 billion with blue so in terms of advanced scoring that's the one you'd wanna go with). Sanae & Futo may also be a good shottype for a run like this, though i haven't done enough attempts to verify if that may be the case.

that being said, 20 billion is most likely if not definitely reachable, maybe even 21 billion. i don't really know if i'd be able to reach that anytime soon, though...
