Martim Moniz is the heart of Lisbon's multiculturalism. In the streets of this neighbourhood, there is a smell of colourful spices in the air; different worlds intersect, and they all coexist simultaneously in an exchange of exotic cultures and traditions. In Martim Moniz area, many Indian restaurants and stores are open, along with Pakistani and Chinese stores. You can also find several Halal butchers, spices stores and Indian street food. This is the area where many Bangladeshi live and have their businesses in Lisbon.
Martim Moniz is home to a vibrant Indian community in Lisbon, the largest in Portugal. It's like Lisbon's Chinatown, Indian Town and Pakistani Town all at once, and where many Chinese and Indians in Lisbon live.
