Psoas Muscle Abscess || Ultrasound || Case 231

Clinical Features:
A 35 years old male patient came with
Fever
Back pain
Lower limb weakness
Difficulty in standing & walking

Ultrasound Features:
A well-defined thick-walled heterogeneous collection is noted at the posterior aspect of the right lumbar region within the psoas muscle, that is the retrofascial space rather than the retroperitoneal space, extending to adjacent intervertebral disc space.

Remember:
Check 4 points:
Kidney
Extension to iliacus muscle
Communication with intervertebral disc
Check opposite psoas muscle
