On December 7, 2023, CMQCC hosted a webinar about Low-Dose Aspirin to prevent preeclampsia and subsequent preterm birth for California’s women and birthing people. During this webinar, an expert panel from CMQCC presented best practices for respectful, compassionate discussion about risk factors for the development of preeclampsia with patients, tips for essential patient education, and tools available in theMaternal Data Center (MDC) for tracking patient LDA usage. Then webinar also provided an overview of California’s #LetsDoAspririn campaign, funded by the March of Dimes.

Webinar objectives were to:
1) Review risk factors identifying who meets the criteria for low-dose aspirin for preeclampsia prevention.
2) Discuss best practices for respectful, compassionate discussions with patients, including addressing structural racism as a mediator of health outcomes.
3) Review tips for essential patient education, including scripts and tools for tackling these difficult conversations.
