As always, use this as a blueprint and adjust to your style. This is what works for me.


Overall, I’ve had very good survivability with this build. All my play testing was on Apocalypse, so you’ll certainly be able to handle enemies on lower difficulties. You’re gonna die quite a bit adjusting to this massive weapon on Apoc. Don’t be discouraged; it’s rewarding AF once you get the rhythm of it. It just takes practice and getting familiar with the build; I recommend putting some time in to really hone in on the Black Greatsword. It definitely requires some finessing. Check out how bad I started off during my initial build test. You’ll see that I missed a lot of my strikes:

You’re able to regenerate your health back insanely fast with Rally Band, so don’t let the build approach deter you (from intentionally taking damage).


Also, I wanted to emphasize that I crafted this build with a heavy focus on Black Greatsword (duh) which is why I’m not using any weapons or mods that sweep minions and elites (not my jam anyways). Much like the Black Swordsman (Guts), this play-style invites danger and confronts impending doom (cheesy, I know). This is for all the in your face, ain’t no bitch, melee players, and a tribute to Kentaro Miura and his character, RIP (Author of BERSERK).

I dub this the "Come at me bro" Build, or the "I want all the smoke" Build.
