2015: The Year That Was - Abraxas Video

It's time for a look back at the year that was 2015 for Abraxas Video.

Even with more onboard flights than any previous year, 2015 was actually a smaller year in terms of captured aircraft movements compared to 2011-2014, with only 464 recorded.

What the year may have lacked in individual movements, it made up for in new locations and interesting aircraft, especially during my tour of Iran. The year also saw travel to Melbourne and South America with an unexpected stop in New Zealand!

We bid farewell to the red jets of Virgin Blue, the A340's of Thai, LAN and Etihad while welcoming in China Eastern's new (and boring) colours and seeing classic and unique aircraft like the L1011 Tristar, Antonov 74 Transport, 727 and 747SP.

Among my highlights were sighting the above mentioned aircraft, visiting the flight deck of the 747SP en-route to Tehran and some of the awesome scenery over South America, especially the landing videos I captured in Santiago and Cusco.

Junkie XL provides another pumping soundtrack from the 2015 movie 'Mad Max: Fury Road' as we again look at the first time appearances on the channel, the special liveries and movements for the year.

2016 promises to be just as interesting, with some more exciting destinations and aircraft to come - and I feel like I'm actually catching up to the present day :)
