🇮🇷 Tehran, Iran Walking Tour - Theatre shahr ( City Theater ) - تهران تئاتر شهر

The "Teatershahr" complex was designed by engineer Ali Sardar Afkhami in 1346 and its construction lasted for five years. This collection was opened as the most modern theater in Tehran on Saturday 7th of Bahman 1351 with the performance of The Cherry Orchard written by Anton Chekhov and directed by Arby Evansian and starring Dariush Farhang, Sosan Taslimi, Mehdi Hashemi, Fahima Rastkar and Parviz Pourhosseini. In the beginning, "City Theater" and theater performances were under the supervision of the Shiraz Art Festival Organization, but after a while, it was handed over to the National Radio and Television Organization of Iran. This complex has beautiful architecture and is considered part of the country's cultural heritage. The "City Theater" complex is located at the intersection of Vali Asr Street (intersection of Elginal St. and Vali Asr St.) in the vicinity of the Student Park in Tehran and has a large and beautiful paved area.

مجموعه «تئاترشهر» در سال ۱۳۴۶ توسط مهندس علی سردارافخمی طراحی شد و ساخت آن پنج سال به طول انجامید. این مجموعه در روز شنبه هفتم بهمن ۱۳۵۱ با روی صحنه رفتن نمایش باغ آلبالو نوشته آنتون چخوف و به کارگردانی آربی اوانسیان و با بازی داریوش فرهنگ، سوسن تسلیمی، مهدی هاشمی، فهیمه راستکار و پرویز پورحسینی به عنوان مدرن‌ترین سالن تئاتر تهران افتتاح شد.
در آغاز «تئاتر شهر» و اجرای تئاترها زیر سرپرستی سازمان جشن هنر شیراز بود ولی پس از چندی به سازمان رادیو و تلویزیون ملی ایران واگذار شد.

این مجموعه از معماری زیبایی برخوردار است و جزء میراث فرهنگی کشور محسوب می‌شود. مجموعه «تئاتر شهر» در چهارراه ولی عصر (تقاطع خیابان انقلاب و خیابان ولی عصر) در مجاورت پارک دانشجو در تهران قرار گرفته‌است و محوطه سنگ‌فرشی وسیع و زیبایی دارد.
