The 2025 AJ Bell Great South Run returns for an amazing weekend of running as we celebrate 35 years of the world’s greatest 10-mile event on Sunday, 19th October!

Since its inaugural event in 1990, the Great South Run has built an incredible legacy in the world of mass participation and athletics. A must in the running calendar, it has seen hundreds of thousands of participants over the years. With countless incredible achievements, millions raised for charity, and British and European records broken along the South Coast, it’s no wonder this is hailed as the world’s greatest 10-mile event!

Starting and finishing along the beautiful South Coast, runners will pass some of Portsmouth’s most iconic landmarks. You’ll enjoy picturesque views of the Isle of Wight and experience the incredible local support along the historic routes, before crossing the finish line on Clarence Esplanade, close to Southsea Castle.

But it’s not just the inspiring scenery that draws participants from across the globe. The start line buzz, rocking on-course music zones, and lively post-race celebrations create an unbeatable atmosphere. This is your chance to be your very greatest!
