Removing carpet furniture indentations with steam cleaning by Hilbrands Carpet Care

This is a video showing truck mounted steam cleaning and how it helps remove furniture indentations. All carpet expands when wet and constricts as it drys so there are many videos with different techniques such as using a mist bottle of water or an ice cube to get some moisture without over wetting. Wetting the spots first with water will cause more expansion and is more likely to make the indentations disappear sooner.

Steam cleaning is the best method but why do results vary? Carpets expand when wet and constrict when dry. Some more then others due to various construction. Some carpets are not stretched tight so don't have that pulling effect that helps to make them go away sooner(we do carpet restretching) . Some have a poor quality pad which isn't pushing carpet back up as strongly and take longer to expand.

If wetting fails to remove them just allow more time. Time really helps, its a combination of normal contraction with the weather and foot traffic that weight of moving around causing more expansion and contracting and one day you just don't notice them anymore. Thanks for watching.
