Instrumentation for N2O Control

Описание к видео Instrumentation for N2O Control

This webinar is organised by the Instrumentation, Control and Automation Specialist Group.

Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTPs) is an essential part of environmental management. While necessary in ensuring public health and environmental protection, these facilities have significantly contributed to nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions. In one century, N2O, has a global warming potential nearly 300 times greater than carbon dioxide, and this accentuates the urgency to address its release from WWTPs. Tackling these emissions is an environmental imperative and a step towards a sustainable future for the communities that these plants serve.

Process control is one opportunity to mitigate and minimise conditions that favour N2O formation. However, process control relies on instrumentation with accurate real-time measurements, which is a bottleneck for N2O mitigation.

This webinar will demonstrate the latest measurement technologies for N2O- measurements, including challenges that operators are facing in practice. Both off-gas, liquid phase N2O-measurements and readily available sensors for AI-driven N2O-assessment will be discussed – all from an Instrumentation Control and Automation (ICA) perspective.
