Luke Chapter 20 places Jesus in direct confrontation with religious and political power. As he teaches in the temple during his final week, leaders challenge his authority, attempt to trap him with questions, and ultimately reveal the condition of their hearts. Jesus responds with wisdom, authority, and clarity that exposes hypocrisy and points unmistakably to God’s kingdom.

2) The parable of the wicked tenants (vv. 9–19)

4) David’s Lord and false devotion exposed (vv. 41–47)
Jesus challenges shallow interpretations of Scripture and warns against religious leaders who seek honor, power, and recognition while exploiting others. True devotion is marked by humility, not appearance.
