meaning:
During the reign of Joseph Stalin his grip of power was so strong that at his rallies no one dared to stop clapping first for fear of reprisal. They had to install a bell to ring letting people know it was ok to stop clapping. The Clappers Bell, to me (the writer) is a metaphor for the corruption that comes with power and the choice all of us make to embrace or challenge that corruption.
