Qinghai 4K HDR - Ambient Drive on NW China's mountain winding road

Welcome back to our journey. This time we are going to explore Haidong, Qinghai Province, and will be driving on the Weibei Highway. This is a popular weekend self-driving destination for locals in Qinghai. In recent years, due to the spread of the social media, more and more tourists from other provinces have come here to experience its characteristics: the colorful twelve bends and the Huzhugou valley, including me and you.

This Weibei Highway extends from Huzhu County, Haidong City, Qinghai (the only Tu autonomous county in the country) to Tianzhu County, Wuwei City, Gansu Province (known as the "Heroic Tribe", and together with Muli County, Daliangshan, are the only two Tibetan autonomous counties in this country), and west to Menyuan, Haibei. This small loop line is only a day's drive, but the scenery can be experienced all year round. Today we will drive on the full tourist section built in Huzhu County.

The most famous of this road is the Huzhu Colorful Twelve Turns. The local authorities carefully painted this section of the road and even set up the twelve Chinese zodiac animals to guard it.

However, there are many scenic spots on the Weibei Highway. In addition to the core Twelve Bends, Beishan National Forest Park, Tiantang Temple, etc., there are also the Twelve Huzhu Valleys. Each valley has different scenery, whether it is mountains, rocks, streams, waterfalls, or idyllic countryside. The scenery is different in summer and autumn. Especially from the fork of Weibei Highway to Gangqing Highway, the whole way is full of scenery, which is the most suitable for self-driving and leisurely travel.
