Because I enjoy most of my content on the TV itself (Netflix, YouTube, Spotify, Hulu, etc...) and use the ARC function, the onscreen display is not really an option for me.

Too bad too. From my other video, you might get the impression that I was hard on the Marantz, but I prefer it's sound. Again, it's subtle, but it's there. I don't regret ending up with the Denon, it's a great amp, but if the display weren't an issue the Marantz would have been my first choice.

Both are high quality 9.2 channel AVR's capable of running external power amps, making them pretty versatile.
